Graduated in Biology (1992) and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (1996) by Universidad de Buenos Aires. Postdoctorate in molecular phytopathology in University of California, Davis (1997-1998), and in sugarcane genomics in Universidade de São Paulo (1999-2004).
In 2005, was hired as assistant professor of the Botany Department of Biosciences Institute (Universidade de São Paulo), obtaining in 2015 the position of associated professor. Using functional genomics and molecular physiology, the group work aims to understand and manipulate plant metabolism to increase plant yield and nutritional quality, using tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) as model species.
